Meyrin Solar Grand Prize

The first solar vehicle race in the world was launched in 1985 by the Swiss Solar Energy Society (SSES). This rally “Le Tour de Sol” saw many curious vehicles criss-crossing Switzerland and allowed to promote the use of photovoltaic solar energy for the electric propulsion of these vehicles at each stage.

The Meyrin Solar Grand Prize was organized in 1986 by Georges John Spoehrle. The video below shows us these unusual cars, pioneers of a new energy for Man.
